In a few days Alvar will be four months old and time as just raced by. The web site hasn’t been updated at all and it’s hard to write about all that has happened so far, but I will attempt a summary. Alvar has done lots of things in his first four months and been really busy with both his development and social engagements! Mum has taken him along to lunches and coffees with friends in town and a few visits to the office. When he was four weeks old he went by train to Uppsala for the first time and when he was ten weeks he attended a party at Alfabeta and met various children’s books authors. Last weekend he even went to his first opening of a photography exhibition at a gallery! Alvar got the hang of breast feeding more or less straight away, which made life much easier for mum. He’s not had any major tummy troubles and has been sleeping well at night (although you do have to eat a few times of course…). Unfortunately, the nights have got a little bit worse the last couple of weeks… It’s probably to do with the age and that so many things are happening now. Also, it will soon be time to start with food. Weight and height has increased steadily and at a good rate. All the details are under ”Journal”. He has however, also had time to go through a rather nasty cold, which he came down with the week before Christmas and he was rather snivelly, croaky and coughy for three weeks. Perhaps we’ve been out and about a bit too much, but you can’t just stay at home either! Development-wise I think he’s moved on fast. Alvar was aware of everything around him very early on and things like focusing, listening when you talk, first smile (three weeks), ”talking” (eight weeks) and looking around came quite quickly. He’s very curious! It’s now hard to concentrate on eating when there are things going on around you, so mum has had to use changing rooms in shops on a few occasions… When he was seven weeks old he was beginning to be very good at holding his head up when lying on his tummy. On the day that he was two months old he rolled from his back to his side. When he was nine weeks he discovered his feet and became very interested in his hands. At ten weeks he could keep his head steady when sitting in your lap. In the last three weeks a lot has happened. Alvar has sat in his high chair at the dinner table. He tries to grab hold of his feet. Two weeks ago he picked up a toy for the first time and the other day he rolled from his tummy to his back. Two weeks ago we started swimming and it was a huge success. Alvar really enjoys beeing in the pool. We are also going to a mother & baby aerobics class and it seems to be exciting to watch mum and a few other ladies bounce around to music… Well, that was a summary of the first four months and I now hope that I will be much better at updating the website more regularly! Under ”Galleri” there are lots of new pictures and you will find comments in English if you click on the thumbnails. AnnaKaisa |
